■ What is a resident card ? |
A resident card has been introduced along with the enforcement of the
new residency management system since July 9th, 2012. A resident card will be issued to mid- to long term residents when they are granted permission related to a residency status, such as landing permission, permission for change of residency status and permission for extension of the period of stay. Along with the introduction of the new redsidency management system, the alian registration system has been abolished. For a certain period, the alien registration certificates are deemed to be equivarent to the resident card in legal procedures at the Immigration Bureau and municipal offices. Mid- to long term residents are asked to keep their alian registration cards until a resident card is issued. Please refer to the new residency management system below. ■Notifications or Applications for your Resident Card |
<Prosedure at a municipal office> Foreign nationals who have received a resident card at a port of entry/departure are asked to visit the municipal office where they live with their resident card, and notify the Ministry of Justice where they live within 14 days of finding a place to settle down. A mid- to long term resident who has changed his/her place of residence is asked to bring a resident card to the municipal office of the new residence and notify the Ministry of Justice of the new residence within 14 days of moving to the new residence. This procedure can be completed as part of filing a moving -in notification or a notice of change of address to municipal offices.. <Procedure at a Regional Immigration Office> In case where you file any of the following notifications or applications shown below at the Regional Immigration office, you have to bring your passport, photo, and resident card .New resident card will be issued basically on the day of notification or application. ➀Notification of a change of name, date of birth, gender,or nationality/region ➁Application for updating the validity period of the resident card ③Application for re-issurance a resident card |

Our office can provide you with a service available where our office will
make filing for necessary notifications or applications on your resident card on behalf. In case where our office need to take your passport, alien registration certificate, and/or resident card, our office will issue a temporary receipt with an official seal of our office. |
■在留カードって何? |
2012年7月9日から始まった新しい在留管理制度では、中長期に渡って在留する外国人に対して上陸許可や、在留資格の変更許可、在留期間の更新 許可など在留に係わる許可に伴って在留カードが交付される事になりました。 これに伴い従来の外国人登録書は廃止されます。 本邦に中長期に渡って在留する外国人は、身分を証明するものとして原則として常に携帯が義務付けられています。 現在、中長期の在留者の方々に交付されている「外国人登録書」は一定の期間「在留カード」と見なされますので、直ちに切り替えは必要ありませんが、一定期間を経過する前に切り替えが必要です。又、在留カードの記載内容に 変更が生じた場合には変更内容に応じて届出又は申請が必要となります。 新しい在留管理制度については下記をご覧ください。 新在留管理制度 |
■在留カードの手続を行います。 |
当事務所では、忙しい皆様に代わって地方入管局に出頭し、在留カードに関する諸申請及び届出を行い、在留カードを受領するサービスを行っています。 在留カードの申請手続を行うには、現有の外国人登録書又は在留カード及び旅券を預からせて頂きます。その際、当事務所で職印を押印した預かり証を発行します。 |
